The BMS College of Architecture, Design and Planning (BMSCA D&P) Library and Information Centre is a well-established knowledge hub designed to support teaching, learning, research, and creative practice. The library houses a rich and diverse collection of books, national and international journals, magazines, theses, project reports, CDs, e-resources, and government documents, including Bangalore Master Plan documents, handbooks, and reference materials. The collection effectively meets the academic and research needs of students, research scholars, faculty members, and staff. An exclusive digital reference section further enhances access to electronic resources.

The library subscribes to renowned databases such as JSTOR, Knowledge Hub (K-Hub), and the Charles Correa Archive, and through the VTU Consortium, provides access to a wide range of e-journals and e-books, including Taylor & Francis, EBSCO, Springer, Elsevier, Emerald, and more. The library remains open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on all working days, ensuring extended access for students and faculty.

The entire library collection is bar-coded and RFID-enabled, and the library is fully automated using Koha Integrated Library Management Software. A wide range of user-centric services are offered, including Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC), online book renewal and reservation, online purchase suggestion, database orientation programmes, user management, book bank facility, newspaper clipping service, selective dissemination of information (SDI), and special encouragement initiatives for the top three students.

The library has also implemented an Institutional Repository (IR) using DSpace, which serves as a digital platform to showcase the intellectual output of BMSCA D&P. The repository hosts research publications of faculty, students, and staff, including preprints, reprints of journal articles, conference papers, technical reports, books, book chapters, theses, dissertations, student project reports, lecture notes, and audio-visual materials. Additionally, architectural and design portfolios, product designs, models, paintings, art works, and artifacts are preserved in digital format. E-books and previous years’ examination question papers are made available for academic and research use.

The BMSCA D&P Library is centrally located and equipped with fire alarm systems and CCTV surveillance, ensuring a safe and secure learning environment. The library is managed by qualified, experienced, and well-trained library professionals, who are committed to providing excellent services and continuous support to meet the evolving academic and research needs of the user community.
